Manjit Singh GK Seeks Investigations Against Punjabi Asylum Seekers in USA

Following boycott by members of the Sikh community in the United States, Manjit Singh GK has alleged that “certain individuals” were acting against the Akali Dal leaders for their vested interests. He said that such people have taken false asylums in the United States. He urged the United States Government to carry out investigations against these people. Manjit Singh GK was served with summons by a New York federal court. He is facing charges for using threats to oppress his opponents in the Delhi Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee elections. The summons were served by Sikhs for Justice, a US based organization that has filed similar cases against other Akali Dal and Congress leaders. GK stated that upon returning to India, he would work with party officials to draft out lists of USA asylees and seek investigations against them. He said Akali leaders will also meet US secretary of state John Kerry to take up the issue.
